About

From athlete to high-performance management.

Before caring for athletes, I was one of them. I started playing basketball at seven. I grew up inside courts, competitions and teams, living sport across different contexts and cultures — including New Zealand, where I had the chance to play and experience a new perspective on sport.

Physiotherapy was my way into high performance. Along that path, I worked across clubs, youth categories and the Brazilian Women’s Basketball National Teams, supporting athletes through training, international competitions and some of the highest-pressure moments of their careers. When I chose to follow a different path, one certainty remained: I wanted to build my career inside sport.

It was in the background of those environments that my view of performance changed. I learned that caring for an athlete never ends at the body. Performance is also confidence, communication, organization, adaptability, safety and the quality of the environment built around them. That realization broadened my professional path: from physical performance to managing the ecosystem that sustains it.

Today, based in Madrid, I’m channeling that experience into a new stage of my career in Sports Management and Player Care, connecting my experience as an athlete and high-performance professional to a broader view of management. Because after so many years beside the court, one thing became clear to me: when the athlete is cared for as a person, we create better conditions for them to perform as an athlete.

2020–23

Instituto Trata · Knee and Hip

Three research fellowships, outreach projects and academic leadership — director and later vice-president of the Neurolar academic league, plus a spell at the QFI student-run physiotherapy consultancy — built, step by step, the path to São Paulo.

2013

New Zealand · Bethlehem College

At sixteen, I lived alone in Tauranga and played national basketball championships for the city and for Bethlehem College, named the school’s player of the year — where curiosity became purpose.

2002

Basketball

Where it all started: my first contact with basketball. I played for more than 10 years, representing my city in the Brazilian championship, playing in New Zealand, and going on exchange programs with the Orlando Magic and in Chile.

Areas of expertise

High-performance, player care and elite sports operations expertise.

A journey that blends science, management, experience and Athlete Services — built alongside national teams, elite clubs and the Brazilian Women’s Basketball National Team, across national and international competitions, to elevate careers and streamline high-performance sports operations.

Player care & athlete experience

Treating the athlete as a person, not a protocol: listening, trust and continuity across a whole season. Because athletes don’t only remember the treatment they received — they remember how they felt.

Athlete wellbeing & development

Designing and running long-term prevention and development programs — from Programa Atleta, created at Instituto Trata and still active today, to Programa Social Atleta, which brings the same care to athletes who can’t pay for it.

Sports operations & competition logistics

Training camps, international travel, load and recovery scheduling, competition calendars: the invisible operation that decides whether a squad arrives ready. Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, China and Argentina.

High-performance programs

Building multidisciplinary programs with physicians, psychologists, nutritionists and strength coaches — trained inside one of Brazil’s largest Olympic ecosystems, the CETE/UNIFESP residency with the Brazilian Olympic Committee.

Stakeholder management

Single point of contact between athletes, coaching staff, club leadership and federations, in environments where the decision can’t wait — often as the only physiotherapist responsible for the entire team.

Mentorship & international career development

Guiding sport professionals who want to build a career abroad: choosing the right training, creating the opportunity where none exists yet, and preparing for work in another country and another culture.

Onboarding & athlete integration

Welcoming the new arrival — an athlete new to the squad, the staff or the country. Language, routine, culture and belonging treated as part of performance, not as admin.

Teaching & academic mentorship

Developing sports healthcare professionals through teaching, clinical supervision and technical writing at postgraduate level: turning elite-sport practice into knowledge others can actually apply.
